Cat Kennel Technician Volunteer

Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize kennels as directed and trained.
  • Feeding and watering the cats/kittens as trained. 
  • Washing, sanitizing, drying and storing kennel dishes and your hands as trained.
  • Replace bedding materials as needed.
  • Look for signs of distress/illness in the animals.
Importance of Position: To keep cats comfortable and give them a healthy and safe environment.

Qualifications: 18 years old.   Willingness to get dirty.  Past and/or present cat ownership desired.  Must have patience with scared, overactive and inquisitive felines.  Must be able to handle 5-8 felines in one kennel. 

Responsible to: Volunteer coordinator and kennel technician trainer.

Training Provided: Trained volunteers/personnel will give a minimum of 2 hours of training.  Training will consist of both verbal and hands on training.  Upon completion of training the trainee will be responsible for following up and asking questions. 

After completion of training the trainer will watch the trainee complete a minimum of 2 more "hands on" sessions before leaving trainee to work on his or her own.
